About Us

Walpole Country Club was founded in 1927 as a 9-hole track located across Walpole’s Washington Street from the Club’s current location on Baker Street.

Today’s 18-hole championship course was designed by Al Zikorus on the former site of the Allen family farm, with the course opening for play in 1974. The Allens were Walpole CC members who generously donated the property on which the Club now resides with this proviso: that the land never be used for anything other than a golf course.

In 1994, the Club retained architect Ron Forse to develop a golf course master plan. Since then, numerous changes have been made, resulting in improvements in the course’s level of challenge for elite players and playability for golfers of all skill levels, as well as its overall aesthetic appeal.

Our clubhouse was completely renovated in 2000, and every room has undergone multiple enhancements since then. The main function room is appropriately named the Allen Room and can accommodate up to 180 guests for weddings or other functions. An outdoor Pavilion was added in 2015, offering another option for the special-event planner.
